I couldn't just send off the blanket. I had to make a cute little owl hat to match his blanket. The new little man was born early September so he won't use his hat right away. I made his hat 3-6 months old so that he can enjoy it this winter.
I made both the hat and the blanket from my favorite yarn, I Love this Yarn from Hobby Lobby in Country Blue. The blanket is the same one that I made for her older son that you can see here. The pattern for the blanket comes from a great book of crochet and knit blankets called Undercover: 60 Afghans to knit and crochet.
The owl hat pattern can be found from Inner Hooker designs here.
I love making this blanket as it works up so nicely and it is thick enough to keep a baby warm all winter. I made one for my niece as well that I will be sharing with you soon.
Happy Crocheting!
