We are so very blessed to have Anna in our family. She brings added sweetness and joy to all our lives. All my boys (husband included) adore Anna. How could you not love a little girl who smiles all the time?
I've had quite a few people tell me lately with amazement, "She is such a happy baby!" I am confused by this as I would think all babies are happy, but I guess that isn't the case. Thankfully, God has blessed us with three very happy and friendly kids.
Enough about how much I love my kids, on to what I made Anna!
Anna has a ladybug room, ladybug slippers, the nickname Anna bug, a ladybug birthday cake and now, a ladybug tutu!
I made Anna's Ladybug Tutu longer so that it functions as a tutu dress right now. As she grows it can be a bit shorter and then finally become a traditional tutu skirt when she is older. I followed the tutorial that I posted here.
To make it a dress, I extended the length by measuring Anna from chest level to ankle length. I wrapped satin black ribbon around the top and tied it in a bow in front. I also added a ribbon to go around her neck to keep it up. To make it a true ladybug tutu, I sewed on about 12 round pieces of felt to give it that added touch.
I am very pleased with how it turned out great. I think from the smile on Anna's face that she is happy with her birthday gift.
Here is a good top picture before Anna crawls off!
Anna was so happy she was bouncing in her tutu!

I have a few more tutus to share with you as I am making some for a couple of special girls birthdays.
What do you think, should I add tutus to our etsy shop when it opens? I would love to hear your thoughts!
You did a fantastic job it is adorable...Thank you for sharing

You should definitely add tutu's. I am NOT a crafty person and wouldn't be able to make this at all....so I would be one of those mom's to buy one. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is adorable. Anna makes a gorgeous model too. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the sweet words. I appreciate it. Thank you also for the feedback. I will definitely add tutus to the shop!
