I have a delicious recipe for Crock Pot Beef Brisket for you today. I love anything in the Crock Pot. It just makes my life easier. Cooking beef brisket has always been a fear of mine. It is one of those meats you don't want to mess up. Thankfully, this is an easy recipe that makes the brisket moist and delicious. I first had this over at our church secretary's home. I was raving about it and I begged for the recipe. She obliged and now I want to share it with you.
Grab your large Crock Pot and let's get started. Cut 2-3 onions in half and lay on the bottom of your Crock Pot. Place your beef brisket on top. Reserve 1/2 of your liquid (see full recipe below) and pour the remaining over your brisket. Cook on low for 10-12 hours or on high for 5-6 hours. The low and slow will give you tender moist meat.
Slice your brisket and serve with the prepared barbecue sauce (recipe below). Enjoy! I wish I had a better picture of the finished brisket for you, but honestly, it smelled so good that we devoured it. I didn't think to take a picture until afterward and this was what remained.
Beef Brisket Recipe
3/4 cup cola
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 cloves minced garlic
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2-3 medium halved onions
1 1/2 pound beef brisket
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons butter
Mix all of the first 8 ingredients together. Reserve 1/2 cup for sauce. Layer onions on bottom of Crock Pot. Place brisket on top. Pour the remaining liquid over the brisket. Cook on low for 10-12 hours or on high for 5-6 hours.
To make sauce: In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of sauce with 1/2 cup ketchup and 2 tablespoons butter. Heat to a boil. Set aside.
Slice or shred brisket. Top with sauce.
