Leave Santa a Sweet Treat! A tutorial

I've always wanted a special plate to set out for Santa.  Now that I have a Silhouette, I can personalize virtually anything!  Check out my plate for Santa.  Can't wait to make him some goodies to go on it!

Here is your how to:

Supplies:
1 plate of any color (I used white.  $1 at the Dollar Tree)
Vinyl in your chosen color
Transfer Paper
Silhouette Cutting Machine

1.  Choose your wording and font using the Silhouette software.  I used Santa's Sleigh Full font.
2.  Cut it using the Silhouette Machine.
3.  Pull off the excess vinyl around the letters and shape.
4.  Place your transfer paper on the vinyl covering all parts.  Scrape down with a scraper.

5.  Peel off the backing.  Place the transfer paper with vinyl attached on your clean plate.  Firmly adhere it to your plate and peel off transfer paper.  Voila!  Santa has a new dish!

Now, that you know how to make one, would you like to save some time and win your own plate?  See day 2 of our 12 days of Christmas Giveaways!

  1. This is so cute. I love it! What are the instructions for washing it? I'm assuming it should be hand washed? You girls have me excited to bake this weekend!

  2. Yes, Dana, you would need to handwash this unless you used premium vinyl. We used just normal vinyl which is not dishwasher safe. Thanks for the comment!

  3. Cute. We had one when I was young. And 2 mugs. Santa didn't like milk--he was into coffee. And Mrs. Claus like milk in hers. I think one made by you will be treasured.

  4. We used normal vinyl. If you make it, you will want to hand wash it gently. If you use premium vinyl, you might be able to use it in the dishwasher, but I am not positive on that.

  5. Thanks for the kind words Pamela! Isn't it funny how particular Santa and Mrs. Claus can be! :)
