I have been experimenting with some new recipes lately and I have a real winner for you! It is just in time for some fall home cooking! The picture doesn't do it justice, as it was gobbled up by my family in one sitting.
Swiss Chicken & Apple Bake
4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 to 8 slices Swiss cheese
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup of chicken broth or dry white wine
1 cup herb seasoned stuffing mix or more (not prepared or cooked stuffing)
1/2 cup of butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped apple (granny smith for a bit of bite or other typer for sweetness)
Arrange chicken in a 13 by 9 baking dish Top chicken with Swiss cheese. Combine soup and broth (or wine) and pour over chicken. Sprinkle stuffing and apples (if using) over soup mixture and drizzle with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
Enjoy!
