A friend of mine asked me to make an owl tissue box cover as a teacher gift for her. I have never made a tissue box cover, but thankfully, I found a free pattern. I wanted to model it off the owl purse that I make.
I think it turned out really well. Click the link above if you are interested in the free pattern. Of course it doesn't include the eyes, flower and nose but you can find those on the great purse pattern here.
I hope that my friend's teacher really likes her appreciation gift.

Thanks Annemarie! I love trying new things! ~Jill
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the 8 ply yarn used to make this tissue cover. Is it a chunky yarn? I'm so confused. Regular ole yarn is 4 ply, right? Appreciate any help...
ReplyDeleteI used an 8-ply worsted weight yarn, not a chunky yarn. It came out a little bigger than the pattern showed so next time I think I will try to crochet tighter and/or use a smaller hook. Hope that helps. :-)
Deletehttp://www.ravelry.com/help/yarn/weights. Found this guide if it helps it says 8 ply is double knit
DeleteI just finished this today. It is so cute! I also linked you on my blog, www.http://nicoleanndesignz.blogspot.com. :-) Thanks for the idea!
