Just when I think I am getting my project list cut down a bit, it seems to pile up! I finished this beautiful Ripple Baby Blanket a couple of weeks ago. I didn't have any other blankets on my to do list and now I have three more! I am telling you it is a baby boom!
I made this baby blanket and sweet little cloche hat for our church secretary's daughter, Jill. This blanket is traveling farther than I have ever sent off a blanket before. Kathy (our wonder church secretary, who spoils us rotten) went to spend some time with Jill after the birth of her granddaughter, Hannah. Jill and her family are living and working in Abu Dhabi. Yep, that is completely on the other side of the world.
I have made a ripple blanket before, but this time I decided to make long vertical ripples versus the traditional horizontal ripples. You can find the pattern for free here.
I also wanted to make something special for baby Hannah to wear for a little bit. I made a cloche that had a great eyelet edging. Instead of making a flower, I decided to weave in ribbon and tie it in a bow. The ribbon can then be changed out for other colors to match her outfits.
This is a super easy cloche to whip up and better yet the pattern is free. You can find it at the Aesthetic Nest. You will want to browse around as she has a pattern for larger children's sizes and a few other fabulous patterns.
I hope that Jill and Hannah like the blanket and cloche.
I am off to work on the other three blankets and hopefully get our etsy store up and running soon!
