My sister asked me to make one of her clients a doll carrier. I have never made a doll carrier so I got on Pinterest to research. There wasn't much to choose from, but the ones I did like led me to the book, Oliver + S Little Things to Sew: 20 Classic Accessories and Toys for Children.
Now for those of you who know me, I will attempt to sew anything. Attempt is the key word. I'm self-taught when it comes to sewing. If something is too complicated, I won't try it. Many times, if it is too complicated, I try my own way. What was really nice about this pattern was it was both simple and I could still tweak it to be even easier! The only change I had to make was using more velcro since I haven't taught myself how to make buttonholes yet.
If you want to try a new pattern to make for your little one or as a gift, this is a great one to try. Here is the carrier I made for my sister's client.

Gage's Blanket
Back in the fall I made a baby blanket for my husband's cousin's child, Gage (did you follow that?). This family loves all things camouflage that is why I went with a hunter green. I used my favorite yarn, I Love this Yarn from Hobby Lobby.
I used one of my favorite patterns. It is from RAKJ Patterns. It is called the Triple Stitch Blanket. I love it as you can use just about any yarn and any size hook. This blanket works up really quickly. You can see another picture of one that I worked up in a bulky weight yarn here.

Name Blocks
Let's face it, most kids today have way more toys than they can play with. So, when invited to birthday parties, I try to ask parents if there's something their child could use, that I can create.
Recently, one of our friends, celebrated her fourth birthday. I knew her room was being transformed from Winnie the Pooh to Disney Princesses, for her big day.
I asked her mom if there was anything special she'd like for her new room. Her mom suggested name blocks. I got my husband to cut a 4x4 post, in squares. I painted the squares, mod podged the sides, sanded to slightly distress, and applied vinyl letters I cut on my Silhouette. They made a wonderful, personalized gift and look great with her princess themed room.

Owl Tissue Box Cover
A friend of mine asked me to make an owl tissue box cover as a teacher gift for her. I have never made a tissue box cover, but thankfully, I found a free pattern. I wanted to model it off the owl purse that I make.

Yummy Broccoli Recipe
Did I write Yummy Broccoli? Something must be wrong with me! I have never liked broccoli, well unless it is covered in cheese. I am happy to report that I have a recipe for broccoli that is both yummy and healthy. I know, it is a surprise from me (little Paula Deen). I actually plan to eat broccoli again after eating it like this!

Crumb Topped Apple Pie
It might not be apple pie time, but I wonder if there is ever a time that apple pie isn't delicious. Today, I have a simple, yet scrumptious recipe!

Lamb Hat Pictures
Back in mid-March I shared the Lamb hat that I made for my friend's daughter. Well, it has taken me too long, but I finally got the pictures uploaded to the tonight!
Check out this beautiful little girl! She is rocking the hat with her adorable jacket. My friend Loria is also quite the photographer!
If you are interested in this hat or other items that I make, you can find them in my etsy shop. I post all my products (whether they are currently listed or not) on my facebook page (Jillysboutique11). Go "like" my page. Any specials will be posted on Facebook!

GraciAnn's Doll Clothes
Back in the fall, Shannon's daughter, GraciAnn had a birthday. Shannon had mentioned that GraciAnn was really into doll clothes. Well, I knew I didn't have time to sew some clothes nor did I want the headache and frustration that would cause me. I like to sew, but I want the products that I make to be high quality. Trying something for the first time would not be the quality that I like.
Instead I went the route that I knew I could accomplish. I got on the internet and found a crochet doll dress pattern.
