I Bought the Greatest Felt Hearts and I Created....

Here's another great Valentine's Day idea. feltjar.etsy.com has been a great supporter of our blog. Visit her to see if you find anything you can't live without!

One of my Facebook friends, posted this great etsy store as her status: feltjar.etsy.com.  She showed these adorable little hearts she bought. Well, who was I to be left out?  I saw them and immediately knew what I could do with them.

This is how they arrived, all bundled with love.

I opened them and here the 20 tiny beauties were!

I gathered all my supplies.  My vase, a tree branch, floral foam, a needle, thread, and my precious hearts.

I trimmed a piece of floral foam to fit in the vase.  I knew it would offer stability to my wobbly branch.

I stuck the branch in the vase, going through the floral foam.

I used a needle and thread to make ornament hangers on all 20 hearts.

I pulled the thread so that the knot was actually hidden in the top of each heart. (not pictured)

Almost done!

I just added a ribbon.  I love it!

I highly recommend that you hop on over to Laura Malek's shop: feltjar.etsy.com and see all her lovelies.  She was wonderful to order from.  Even with our snowstorm (she lives only about an hour from me and was snowed in as well), I got these right away. She even included a hand written thank you note.

I'm in the middle of two more projects today.  Busy busy!  The snow is melting and the skies are blue.  The kids aren't napping (what's new?) Hopefully, I'll get them done to share with you!

A Gorgeous Valentine's Day Wreath

I'm going to share some posts from last year that have wonderful Valentine's Day ideas. Here's the first one!

I FINISHED IT!
Isn't it beautiful?

The pictures do not do it justice.  The felt is a great velvety red.

I've temporarily placed it on my mantle since it's too cold to go outside and put it on my door.

I LOVE my new heart wreath!

Do you want to make one?  Well, this was a copy craft. Let me give you a few pointers. There are more than 300 three inch circles on my wreath.  It took over a yard and a half of felt.  The original crafter said she used 3/4 of a yard.  I'm thinking I put my circles a little too close together.  Oh well.  I think it looks fantastic and the blisters on my scissor hand will heal soon.  Just kidding.  I didn't get blisters but that did make for a lot of cutting.  I did double up the felt so I was cutting two at a time.  That helps! Also, love all my friends and my Mommy but I won't be making anymore of these this year.  As glad as I am that I made it, I'm circled out.  This is not a mass crafting recommended project.

Here's the link to the creator: http://www.theidearoom.net/2010/01/felt-heart-wreath.html Kudos to her for creating such an amazingly beautiful wreath.

We're still facing freezing conditions and icy roads.  GraciAnn solved the dilemma of how to warm up after playing in the snow....

A BUBBLE BATH!

I'm so glad Jill shared her "recipe" for bath paints.  My girls adore bathtime and paint. We'll be making those soon.  So, since we're iced in again tomorrow, I'll be working on another project in the works, "THE PLAYROOM!"  Yikes!  Wish me luck!

Perry the Platypus Hat

My kids love the show Phineas and Ferb.  To be honest, my husband and I equally enjoy it.  The humor in the show isn't crude or adult humor that you later have to explain.  It is just plain funny.  I also love a show that incorporates singing and dancing as it makes it that much more fun to watch!

Shannon and our friend Amy had a joint birthday party for their kiddos a couple of weeks ago.  I made both Quentin and Mariella a hat for their birthday.  Quentin loves Perry the Platypus (which is from Phineas and Ferb) and he is talented enough to make Perry's signature sound.  I asked Shannon if she had any ideas for Quentin and she mentioned a Perry hat.  I thought it was a fantastic idea and would be a great addition to my shop.

Check out Perry the Platypus!

Minnie Mouse Hat

I've had making a Minnie and Mickey hat on my to do list for quite awhile.  There are so many Disney fans that I knew it would be a hit.

Shannon recently had a birthday for Mariella and it was Minnie Mouse themed.  I asked her what she would like me to make Mariella and she mentioned a Minnie Mouse hat.  I sent her some pictures of sample hats that I had seen before and we pieced together her favorite version of them all.

Here is Minnie Mouse....

New Tutus

I have found that I love making tutus for gifts now.  After seeing tutus in the stores, you get a flimsy little tutu that isn't all the cute and probably won't last very long.  I wanted to make very full tutus that could grow with a child.  I've now made a few tutus for Ryan's friends who've had birthdays recently.  I learned how to wrap ribbon around the waistband to make them a bit softer for wearing.  Plus it gives added embellishment to the tutus.

Check out all these new tutus. . .

Polar Bear Hat

My sister created a board on my Pinterest labeled, "Ideas for Jill to make...LOL"She put the LOL, but really she isn't laughing, she is serious.  I don't mind though.  She is giving me new ideas for my shop and I always love a challenge.

Before Christmas, my sister started pinning Polar Bear hats for my nephew.  I promised to make him one, but I was so busy making handmade gifts for Christmas that it got put on the back burner.  Thankfully, my to do list has calmed down and I was able to make it a few weeks back.

Adult Cloche

A few months ago, my husband's Aunt saw Anna wearing her Sunshine Hat while at a soccer game.  She mentioned that she would wear one of those if it were an adult size.

I am always wondering about good gift ideas and this was one that I could do myself.  I stored it away in my memory and put it on my Christmas to do list.

Adorable Toddler Boots

While perusing Pinterest, a reoccurring pin kept showing up for an adorable boot pattern.  Since it is obviously popular on Pinterest, I thought it might be a good addition to my shop as well.  Even if no one buys them, I know my sweet Anna will look precious in them.
